I made the same mistake lol. I torqued my heads on without lifters. I took em back off, put the lifters in , torque the heads back down and didnt ever think about it again.

theyve been fine so far. but, my junk is slow compared to some of yalls. it only runs 6.40s NA in the eighth mile

No problem go ahead and reuse them I've reused them before. (Cometic) If you don't believe me that's kool. But anything that Tony Mamo tells you is the gospel truth you can take that to the bank.

Yeah but by design they can't optimally clamp the way brand new ones do..

Do they screw in and hold the head down? Yea

Is it the right way? No

says you......you are not a engineer...I am I reuse um. You think gm spends the time to TTY at the factory? HELL no they torque these bolts just like any other bolt. People don't see bs when it staring them in the face. When gm starts TTY I will too.
The only time I wouldn't reuse them is if the engine was overheated or a head gasket failed just like any other head bolt. What do you think is different about these bolts other than you are told you can't reuse them? Are they magic bolts?

Not a touchy subject just an "engineer" (AKA BS artist) running his pie hole about something he obviously knows nothing about.
