Default cnc ported 243 heads VS. trick flows

ok Im about to build a ls2 408, I already have a set of 243 heads I was going to get ported with bigger valves which is about $1300. I know the trick flows are way more than that, is it a huge gain in power to get the trick flows?
its a nitrous car

the 243 heads can use stock GM rockers .with the trick flow head you have 13.5 valve angle for a little better flow .the trick flow head cost $1700 with bronze valve guides ,which work best with after market roller rockers.maybe sell the 243s and get some TSP prc 225 cast heads .

The 70cc has nothing to do with being to big. Its the runner and valve size. Depending on your piston dish or flat top cc well depend if you should mill the 70cc down a bit to achieve your compression ratio that you want

I would send my 243s to tea they did a build 408 with tea 243 against all the major name brand heads and only 1-3hp difference.and these heads were all bigger than the stock castings.tfs as cast are not worth the money unless u get extra porting that more$ fully cnc tfs with pm guides are $2600.id stick with the tea 243

Its all depending on your budget as well. If you want to spend the extra grand and also if you want to go roller rockers vs stock rockers. If you spray tho i wouldnt reccomend hollow turned down ls3 valves. Heard of some breaking under forced induction

The bump in compression and ported intake counted for hp also not just the heads you put on.what would the results have been with the ai heads more compression and ported intake,I would say 500-510

good article, its not worth the 4 or 5 hp for that price, and the 243 are lighter

TEA TFS 235's. I can match a cam and head combo to your specific needs as well as the valve train components for a matched package.

We just came out with our own head and cam package that is truly custom and nothing about each cylinder head is the same due to constraints placed by the camshaft on the cylinder heads and valve train components.

We use only TEA TFS heads in our Head/Cam packages, and for good reason. We will be offering in house Head/Cam packages where we can have Advanced Induction CNC your stock cylinder heads while your car waits on the heads to be finished, but we really don't like messing with drop shipments this way. Unless you purchase brand new castings or allow us to provide new castings.

The little things though are how repeatable results and great performance come together.

Dumb question. Do i need a special intake if i use Trick Flows GenX heads which are 13.5* valves? or will a regular LS6 intake work well with it?
