Sounds like you have your engine lift centered on the block...it needs to be move more forward to allow the back of the motor to sit lower....so the front can be raised high enough to clear the oil pan

like I said before make the motor as small as possible! I have the motor out in 10 minutes by myself! didn't even need to remove the pedestals.

I took my trans out on jack stands and pulled the motor from the top with my crane. It took a while to unbolt but it can be done.

So much easier to pull both engine/tranny out the top together,,,,remove trans cross member after draining fluid then front of engine higher than the back ,,,,,,,,at roughly a 30-35 degree angle it will come out easilly . reverse to install. also it helps to pull the radiator and remove the a/c compressor and condensor and hang off side of car with something protecting the finish .

I plan to put my engine and trans back in together. Just gotta get the front of the car high enough. I imagine to get it out you have to have it angled up in the front.

I did turn the engine sideways to pull out as I worked it out. And I had a leveler. I kept the hood on, but just unlatched the struts so it would go full 180 degrees open.

Go from the bottom..

It's cool because you can torque the trans to the engine and the converter really easy while its out.. Instead of trying to use wobble extensions under the car..

IIRC you need to get the car up around 35" or so so the top of the intake will clear the bottom of the radiator support..

Plus you can do it with no help fairly easy this way
