Default patriot heads and 224

Finaly went to the track last night with all my new stuff.
PP S2 heads 224/224 cam
with a 4000 stall TC

I ran 12.0X all night long. I could not get into the 11's.

Best I ran was like a 12.03.
What do you guy's think, I am not to happy with it.

Hey Warren, I thought you clocked almost 400 rwhp with the set-up? That should be easy 11 sec time slips there. Like gomer said, what where the 60's and some mph?

Looking at your previous 60ft times, it looks like you need a set of ET Streets. For every tenth you improve in your 60 ft you should improve two tenths in the quarter.

What was your Trap Speed and 60 ft time?

With that setup and sticky tires you should be able to acheive 1.7X or better 60 ft times.

Good luck,

Al

You knocked 8 tenths off your ET, doesn't look so bad to me.

Thats weak.. I ran the same thing without heads at 1.698 60'... with ls1 intake. With an auto I'd suspect you should be out ET'ing me. No big deal though, it could be a zillion things. Who makes your stall? What was your race weight? What was the DA, etc?

Which stage II heads, 5.3-5.7-ls6? If 5.3's, did you have them milled?

Yea, like he said, also, I don't see where you mention gears, do you have your TM removed via LS1 Edit, etc, and have you tuned your car?

12.0 is pretty quick, but I think it could be a little quicker, also the MPH seems low. Like kevin said, do you have any tuning at all? If not, something you should look into

Tuning was done at RPM so I'm quite sure that Chris fixed up the Torque management. It does sound like something is out of wack. Your mph is low, but not horrible for a 4000 converter. You have to remember that the weather around here kinda sucks for racing right now to. I suspect with a little suspension and some good weather you could cut some 1.5xx 60's and maybe a 11.7/8 in some better weather. That would be right on par with some of the other head/cam cars around here.

You really need to work on that 60 ft and you will go right into the 11`s. What kind of tires are you running?
Any idea on your raceweight? and da ?

yes the weather did suck that day it was kinda hot. So I should run a little better with good weather. I have 3.73 gears and I did have a tune done to it by chris robinson at RPM performance in Texas. I am also ruuning MT et streets. That 12.03 which was my best time I think I did spin a little off the line and a little shifting into 2nd. So I guess just with some better weather and heat those tires up some more.

Also do you think a ported TB will put me up over 400hp and maybe get a couple more MPH. I still have stock TB.

Thanks,
Warren

Man, I wish you could get this thunder TB from me, but the year diffrences don't seem like they would work. A good ported TB will be good for 8-10 rwhp.

I didn't see an gear, but I would hope you have at least 3:73 gears or preferably a 4:10 gear w/ a 26" tire. You get it geared right and you'll have a strip terror on your hands.

Oops. Just saw your thread. You got gears.

Are you spinning out of the hole? It looks like you could improve your 60' times a bit. Try dropping some tire pressure on your et streets to get it to hook better out of the hole.

That seems pretty weak. I ran 11.81@116.9mph with a 1.72 60ft with stock heads.
228/224 cam
4.30 12 bolt
M6
Nitto Drag radials
2001 Formula
Spec Clutch
3450lb race weight
Hooker LT's, ORYP
Corsa cat back
stock fuel pump and injectors

With the stock rear end, it dyno's 406 rwhp and 398 rwtq

There is alot left in your setup. Who tuned it?
