I got the EGM-303 scraper for use with stock stroke and arp studs.

Required some minor clearancing for callies compstar rods, but not a big deal. Just figured I'd share for anyone with a similar setup considering this. I used a small hacksaw with a fine tooth blade to trim the offending areas then deburred with files / scotchbrite.

I haven't confirmed this personally but the thread size for the windage tray nuts on the ARP studs seem to be M10x1.25.

I have all the Improved Racing goodies on my car, scrapper, baffle, oil cooler setup with Thermostat. I ran my car at Daytona Rolex course last Nov and I just got back from running all weekend at VIR. Not one dip in oil pressure at either event! After installing the scrapper, I thought I noticed an improvement in HP. I now have evidence! The old dyno run was two years ago. In between I swapped from an LS1 shortblock to an LS6 shortblock, same CR bore and stroke on each. I added the scrapper and the transmission was changed from a Super T10 to a dogbox with straight cut gears. That's it, I swapped everything over from the LS1 to the LS6, even used the same Cometic Head Gaskets! I'm sure a lot of the difference is the transmission, but not this much! I'd say the scrapper alone is worth 10-12 hp on my setup! Pm me if you want more details!

I am certain this is a good product, BUT testimonial like yours where you changed a LOT and then randomly assign a third the credit for a change seen over 2 years with several substantial changes offers nothing credible.

Your post would be a LOT better if you just said you installed one and really like it.

The LS6 block and reduction in drive train loss probably accounted for most of the gain. Realistically, the scraper probably only added about 7 HP at the wheels. It makes more of a difference in the upper RPM's.

Thank you for your integrity.
The torque gains down low say the gain is equal everywhere and is a dyno setting or larger change to the whole car. Not just the high rpm windage gain anyone with understanding expects.

That's correct but you can see the difference in torque start to widen around 4k RPM. It looks very roughly like a 10 RWTQ improvement between low and high RPM's.

Thanks for the interpretation, I openly admitted that the drive train loss made up most of the gains, Saying I changed a lot is a stretch as well, In theory the two blocks should be equal, with the exception of better oiling on the LS6 block, Yes, that's in Theory. Everything else is from the other motor right down to the same head gaskets. Now, what I can say for sure is that I have rock solid oil pressure in some very high G corning situations on the road courses, that I didn't have before the baffle and scrapper, thus the need to change the shortblock out in the first place. Sorry if I may have mislead anyone.

Cliff note version: I have one and I like it.

that crank scraper wont fit an ls7. the ls7 block is special and wont take the normal gen III/IV one you'll need to either modify it or talk to improved racing as I dont believe they make one for an ls7 yet

The LS7 has a different main bolt spacing so it won't fit. It won't clear the LS7 counterweights or rods either. If you have an aftermarket crankshaft and rods, then it may fit if you elongate those center main bolt holes.

You can send it back to us for a full refund. We are developing a scraper for the LS7 and we'll send you one for free when it's available. Sorry about the inconvenience!

From the pics it looks like the crank should clear, but you might want to double check first. If so then yeah, just enlongate those holes.

Would the 305 fit an LS3 block with the LS7 crank and rods and the F-Body pan?

Frankenstein monster I'm thinking about doing...

Currently it won't work with the LS7 crankshaft and rods, but we are developing an additional scraper that will be compatible with it as well as other 4.000" strokers with beefier rods.

I hope you'll do one for lunati pro series 4" cranks and billet I beam pro series rods.

If you have your rods handy, please message us with the width of the big end. We are trying to collect as much data as possible so we can make scrapers that fit every application.

Thanks!
