Default 400whp LS1 383 Stroker Build

I have a 1992 Camaro RS with the 305 TBI. Soon, I plan on building a LS1 to drop in my 92 Camaro. Of course it will have a stronger transmission, drive train and etc. Will it be worth it money wise to build a LS1 or 383 Stroker? If I build a LS1, what parts would be required if I already had a LS1 Short Block with Speed Pro Pistons with anti-friction. What cam, cylinder heads, valves, rockerarms, and intake manifold would be recommended to put 400hp to the wheels down to ground and pound? I'm obviously going to use it as a daily. I'm only going to drive it to work and every once in a while get on the highway to punch it or street race, but not constantly beat on it until it blows up. My question is, to make 400hp to the wheels possible, what parts would you guys recommend me? I started out as a muscle car guy, then decided to try and build a DSM, but those are way to easy since it has boost and you can turn boost up and down, where as, all motor you cannot. Any ideas or a decent build would be very helpful! With 5 grand, what parts could I buy to make it happen?

400rwhp is possible cam only... with a fairly mild cam in an LS1 + headers + lid + tune. With a cam kit with a new oil pump, timing chain, and bolts, gaskets, valve springs, etc + headers + tune... you're probably between 2k and 2500 if you do the work yourself. Heads add somewhere around $1200-2500 depending on what you do... tho I'd do ported stock heads + a used FAST 92 which would be around $2k. Factor in another $500 for miscellaneous stuff and there's your 5k budget with 440-450rwhp.

check out Texas Speed and the ws6 store for prices of parts you will need ,to help you plan your budget .a good used ls1 with a ls6 intake and a torquer v2 cam mite make 400rwhp on the right dyno with a good tuner .also get a second job ,and dump your girl friend to feed you new addiction.

I'm hoping to be close to 400 rwhp with my upcoming cam install, and tune. LT's and lid already installed.

Depending on the trans and rear end, bolt on parts and a cam can get you 400whp. The Dynamometer Results section is full of specific combos and dyno graphs, so you can do a little research and come up with some ideas pretty easily.
