Default Quick Q: which valve oil seals do I need?

Really simple question... My guides diameter is .504" ("threaded" part) and .563" (part where spring seat goes). patriot heads. Which oil seals do I need?
I have "8MM fits .500 guide" LS1 seals from Patriot, but they need hell of the banging with the hammer to seat them, this is obviously wrong...

Help! How do I know which seals to order?
Or should I just bang the hell out of them and see will the engine burn oil? After a lot of banging, these seals don't seem to hold valves as tight as before the punishment...

I know that there is a difference in seals from 5.3 heads and LS1 heads. Some come with a lip on the bottom that sits on the head and is held there by the pressure of the spring. I recommend using a socket to properly seat the seals. They have to go on "just right", and the socket allows you to center the seal on the valve stem.

or you could get the actual valve seal installing tool and do it correctly

a socket is not the right device...
they dont get hammered on...
you should be able to seat them by pushing on them...
they dont bottom out......they should not bottom out...

the tool is made by Kent Moore....
the tool actually does bottom out, but the valve seal does not...
this tool makes it to that you actually seat the seal to the correct placement

and it sounds like you may have the wrong seals

go to a GM dealership and tell them what heads your Patriot heads are based on...
tell them your valve guide specs...
and they should be able to give you the right ones.

there are 2 options...you want the seals without the seat built in (I think they are version 1 if I recall correctly)

I doubt this option will work. Most of the time Chevy requires a VIN. I called with a part number and they demanded my VIN. I work at the Ford Dealership next door, which is owned by the same family.

I go into the local GM Stealership all the time for parts and seals.....
I never give them a vin #
tell the guy at the parts counter to quit being a lazy *******.

they dont need a vin to look up a part for a car...
all they need is year and model and what engine is in the vehicle

I have bought many engine parts for my 408 LSx in my Foxbody, that happens to use LS1 parts and accessories and seals...
many times I have just told them the part # I wanted to buy

if they cant figure it out...then you should talk to their boss and let them know the person should not be getting a paycheck...
if the boss wont do anything...complain to GM Cooperate...they will reply and fix the situation(I know somebody who has emailed them and suddenly the parts guys started being able to look things up without a vin)

Come on guys, I don't even have GM dealership in my country )
Just help me with the right size (or tell me it is fine to hammer seals on).
BTW my "new" seals are bought some 7 years ago, would they "shrink" ?

Please take a look at this picture I posted in another thread. My guides diameter is .503 (ribbed part) and .564" (solid part).
Maybe I have NON stock LS1 guides???

They do not press onto the solid part..

Your guides are .500
Stock size

You will have to get a spring seat that is big enough to go over the solid part...
The seat and seal will be 2 separate pieces.

And so for ".565 guides", diameter of solid part (that is pressed into the head) is even larger than .565"?
