130,000 mile head and Cam upgrade
All,
I am looking to upgrade my head and Cam package for my 98 Trans-am. The current mods i have are ls6 Intake, performabuilt level 2 trans with 3200 stall, TSP 1 3/4 Long tube headers y pipe exhaust, rear end is stock 273. This is and will be a daily driver.
I know my limitations on the car now are the 3200 Stall converter and rear end. Ultimatly i would like to get around 400-450. My budget would be $3,500 I am looking for some ideas for a package. I would like to change the rear end later this year when i return to the states in november this year.

Does that budget include labor and tuning?
If not, you can get a nice aftermarket head/cam package like Trickflow or AFR + cam/springs/pushrods etc. from most vendors.
If it does include install and tune, then your real budget for the parts would be around $2000...which will get you a set of 243/241s ported + the cam.

Well that's a decent budget. Honestly you probably don't need to spend that much. A.I ported stock casting have some good results.
If you go with aftermarket heads, you'll want powders metal guides for a daily driver, so you can run the stock rockers. Get a trunion upgrade for them.
