Default REV double-valve springs...

do they break alot?? i have done a search and read that some people have had them break on them... is this common because these are bad springs??

i will only be running a Comp Cam 224 with them... not a big cam but they are coming with the cam...

but anyways just looking for some feedback from some people that have used these...

The 1116's are good springs IMO. I ran mine for over a year with .598 lift spinning to 7200 rpms and never had any problems. It wasn't until a shop assembled my motor improperly that they broke. I replaced them with the new Crane springs. If I was buying new springs I'd go with the Crane or Patriot springs, but the REV-1116's should run very well for your cam.

so do you think it was because of the size cam or what? or just poor quality in springs...

Not sure they were all on exhaust valves which is the higher lift, .609 or so (no cam cards on LG cams). The inner spring held the valves up and I had no damage.

my ex friend broke 4-5 on his TR230 setup two of them were the new gold looking ones too, are these things used you are buying? if so run like hell!

my other friend that origionally bought them had no problems at all with them though, I thought they were a good spring until my EX friend bought them from my other friend, I think it may have to do with the way he treats his car, as he beats the crap out of it day in and day out, but the springs should hold up to it.

On that note they come with thier own seats and retainers and should be already setup for the proper spring heighth, I heard a local vendor here or used to be was telling people they needed to be shimmed which is a total crock of ****..........

I broke 3 rev's also on my g5x-2 cam. 2 exhaust and 1 intake. I even had the inner spring broken on one of them. This was in 2000 miles, and I never made to the strip or got a chance to race anyone.

do yourself a favor and dont buy used springs. spend the money on a new set, install and heat cycle them properly so you know that there good.
