Really 4.125 BORE in an LQ9 block? Sleeves?
See you are in WI who is doing the machining?

It can be done but you have to get special made pistons. Even then it's not recommended to be daily driven like that. 4.125 is just to long a stroke on an lq block. The piston skirt sticks out the bottom of the bore and causes issues.

My bad saw the second post first. Well first off you can't take an LQ to 4.125 bore. 4.06 is what most say is the furthest before it becomes an issue of integrity and a wall thickness test would be recommended.

what the engine characteristics depend some what on what cam you use .I would not bore out a block much past its cast bore ,unless you sonic check it .ether use a bigger bore block ,or use a 4" crank with a .030 over bore .check Texas Speed to see what pistons they sell with that bore ,and see what rod and crank it works with .do a search here or check U-tube .

I was thinking of a ls3 version of a 377 with a big bore shorter stroke. I think the cubes end up at 388. Fig with a bore and stroke like this it would make a cyl head shine with the valve shrouded less. Alot of heads are flowed at 4.125 bore
