Default Feedback on this cam?

It's a 232/238 .595/.605 114+4 LSA

346" LS1
Goals are strong running N/A car for a while and an eventual turbo set up later on down the road (forged 347). Street car that will be street driven often. I have faith in my tuner when it comes to streetability as I know the tune plays a big part in that.

Will be matched with BTR .660 dual springs and BTR rods. Will I need stock length 7.4" rods or another size? This cam isn't so big that I'll have to flycut pistons or anything like that correct?

At this point I want to keep my 241 heads. Will probably swap them in the future (go to 317s? or port the 241s? not sure on that yet but its a long ways away so I have time to figure that out), most likely at the time I start the turbo build but will the cam work well with the 241s?

Thanks in advance.

That looks to be a moderate sized cam. I can't imagine you having to flycut with it.

If I was you, I would pick a good cam for an N/A setup and when you go turbo sell that cam and get a good cam for a turbo setup. If you pick something in the middle of the two then you will leaving power on the table with either setup if you plan on running it both N/A and F/I.

Would stock length rods be the correct size? I don't really know how to determine that. Found a deal on some 7.4" BTR rods that I want to jump on if thats the correct size.

There's no sure fire way except checking it with a pushrod length checker, $20 from comp. I've heard a senior member say if you're in a rush, you can check it and run stockers as long as you keep rpm very reasonable. But I'd wait, order the checker and go ahead and wait the extra week or so.

Seems like a good cam for the n/a aspect. Not a good cam for a turbo set up.

I'd go with single pattern cam like the Tick Turbo Stage 1 for a cam that'll still work good without the turbo.

How so? Don't boost cams usually have lower lift, and higher LSA? Previous owner ran it on a 6.0 and made 750rwhp no prob. It was also the cam recommended to him by Lashway for his boosted set up.

That cam is not the ideal grind for a blower with high boost, but it looks fine to me for more moderate boost levels

Alright, going off the power that the previous owner had it should be fine at around 600whp correct? I wouldn't mind having to switch to something else at that point if I decide I want more power.

Yeah you wont need a ton of boost to reach 600 rwhp. It should be fine for that
