I just finished the build so I can't speak to valve spring life yet. As for rpm I was planning to rev out to 6800 rpm max. Valve spring life was my greatest concern though so hopefully I won't regret going with the psi 1511ML.

Lots of good info Kip. I would like your opinion on these following lobes, the number is the diff between .006 & .050
1) LSK 50* (not recommended for street use)
2) XER 49* (I got tired of the noise)
3) LSL 50* (My customer has a 227/243 in his 2010 Camaro, and is very quiet)
4) LXL 52* (advertised as being quiet, and heard only good reviews)

HARD or SOFT lobes? this a true story. We have a customer that races in a class that can only use a GM create engine no changes stock engine and stock cam specs HYD GM cam. This is for circle track car. The stock spec are if I remember correctly are about 200/315 in 215/300 ex-112 so we made some lobes with the same duration and lobe lift but softer he called back and said it made 100 more Hp at 7000 yea right. It really did at 7000 the stock cam floated the valves so bad it fell off 100 hp the one we made went up to over 7300 so now he changed the rear gear in the car and has the advantage.

Russ K,
What lifters are you using? Have you used the same lifter with the cam swap? Bought exact same NEW lifter? I've read the BTR has had success with his SLR lifters and it might be worth trying if the noise bothers you enough giving you cam is SUPPOSE to be a quiet design. FWIW.

KIP Fabre,
You mentioned old CM cams and new CM cams. Are you new to Cam Motion or a long time employee?
thanks,
Jim

Kip, I have a question about proprietary cam lobes. I know of one person who has proprietary lobes through comp cams and am curious if any person/company has proprietary lobes through Cam Motion? Also, does the individual/company create the lobe design, or does the cam manufacturer/grinder do this, or is it a collaboration of both parties. I have always wanted to know this.

Allan at futral designed his own lobes as well as Geoff with his EPS series both are ground on a cam motion core . I know Geoff deigned his own lobes just as he did when he worked for thunder racing. Allan to the best of my knowledge developed his independently also. Cam motion just cuts the cams oon their cores

That is correct we have had people try that before. If you have a company you like you can order a cam through them and use our lobes but we will not sell there lobes.
