Default 94 silverado Lq9 performace upgrades

In the process of swapping tbi to 6.0
I'm planning on using long tube headers ground clearance Is a concern as of now it's a static drop 4-6 considering bagging it at a later time
( any brand preference suggestions?)
No cats, single 3 or 3&1/2 exhaust or would dual be better
I'm looking for some upgrade ideas such as which cam would be a good balance between power, daily drivability and price
I have a throttle cable intake I'll be using and have a BBK 80 mm tb I can use
I'll be using a 4l60 with 3.42s in the diff
Also stall recommendations?
I'd like to see at least 350 hp when I'm done
Thanks

sounds like a fun project. A single 3'' with a good muffler will exceed your power goals. Your goals wont be hard to reach just need to decide how much converter you want to run. A comp 216/220 or a 220/224 would be a great daily driver cam. Im running a 212/218 stock converter in my 6.0 truck and made a world of difference and drives 100% and no loss in mpgs but wish I went a tad bigger. Most of these cams are around 550 lift so it makes for a good budget cam swap by using ls6 springs.

Also I've gotten positive and negative responses as far as porting the heads
Is it worth the hassle or would I really be doing more harm than good?

I wouldn't pull the stock 317s just to port because its not cheap when you have to buy new headbolts and gaskets. However I kept my eyes open on craigslist, machine shops, and ebay for a set of 243s or 799s to get a bump compression along with a mild port job. You should be able to hit 350hp with stock heads and still run on regular unleaded.

The only reason I was even considering it was because I already have the heads off
It was a motor I pulled from customers car (an 05 escalade )that was running hot
They supplied me the motor and chose a 5.3 from a salvage yard because they were trying to get out as cheap as possible
Had about 65000 on the odometer
so I pulled them to have em checked
So I gotta get gaskets and bolts anyhow and was just curious if it would even be worth my while

Lq9 6.0 is a cake walk for 350rwhp.mine made 325rwhp with just headers and full exhaust and that thru a 4l80 so with the 60e it will make more but the cams that were suggested above will give u all u need plus more.i have a 94 extended cab that weigh 4600lb it's a blast on the street

If you have them already off give them a go ahead and do it. Id also put a vette cervo and a big trans cooler to give that 60e some more life

I just put a 6.0 bored to a 370 in my truck and it screams. I bought the schoenfeld headers and they fit good. They are made just for ls1 swaps in 88-98 chevy trucks. As said before you won't need a large cam to make the power you want with an lq9.

If using the 94 4L60E I believe it will have the Vette servo stock.
What size tires? If up in the 30" tall range I would seriously consider 3.73s.

For your extremely mild goal no porting is necessary.

Yea unless you are running a very short tire gears are a must I had 31'' tall tires with 3.42s and a 4l60e I was shifting into 3rd at over 100 mph. Now I have 3.73 with a 30" tire and shift at about 92 ish still a little high wish I would have done 4.10s

The 4l60e will be coming from the salvage yard out of an 03 Tahoe along with the harness and ecu.
And as far as tire size I have 295-40-20 rear that stand at around 28.5 tall

Been looking around for a set of 3.73s anyways
Im still not locked in on cam choice and now with all the input I'm considering trying to make more power than what I'd initially decided to shoot for

If using the 03 tranny then I would Transgo with a Vette servo. The 94 tranny might be a problem I don't know.

28.5" I would still consider 3.73s for a street truck that will still see some highway, 4.10s really aren't bad OD and lockup and such really tames it. 4.10s with a 4L60E is similar to 3.08s with old school 3 speed tranny with 1:1 ratio.
