The Patriot spring package requires no modification to the cylinder heads. It a drop-in design.

I've ONLY heard of them failing on cars that race ( drag & road) all the time. For street use they are fine. I've used the 1116's with no issues whatsoever.

Every car that I do a cam install on gets the Patriot Gold Duals. Easy install and comes with EVERYTHING you need for under $300. Not to mention I have NEVER heard of one failing.

As Terry stated, the Patriot dual springs are a stock-diameter spring so no machining of the spring pockets are necessary. We've sold a LOT of the Patriot valve spring packages with no failures to date. IMO, it's the best spring package on the market. I ran them on my last heads/cam package, and I'm running them on my newest heads/cam setup. I'll be running our 231/231, .598"/.598", 112 LSA camshaft in my daily-driven setup, and I'm not worried in the slightest about any spring failures. We'll have her back together just in time for the Hot Rod Power Tour.

Let me know if any of you have more questions.

And Terry told me that with my 228 cam with only 588 lift, I could see 40K out of the Golds......
Now that is what I want, not to have to change springs every Year!!

What are the Isky's rated at?
I was told by LG that they use Isky's in many of their installs without one failure yet.
I'm running Crane duals with my G5X2 though, no problems yet (knock on wood).

Dumb question, but what are the hardened spring seats, Viton valve seals, and Super 7 locks? Is there any need of any kind of special tools to install those parts? When I did my cam swap, the only things that was changed were the pushrods, springs, and retainers. Will I be able to reuse my pushrods? Does a bigger cam (more duration, more lift) require different pushrods? Lastly, who sells this kit? Thanks.

The hardened seats replace your stock seats, no problem to do and no special tools required. Remove your old spring, lock, retainer.. then the valve seal ( just pull it off with pliers ), and then take the stock spring seat off. Now, drop on a new hardened seat, next comes the new valve seal, and last the new spring, super 7 lock, and retainer. Easy as pie! You can get the Patriot kit from Texas Speed or Patriot... pricing is right under $300 for the entire kit last time I checked.

If you used hardened pushrods with your cam install you are OK, they will work with the Gold spring package.

and all of that can be performed with the heads on? What are the Super 7 locks? Are they the "keepers?" This kit sound like a lot of work, especially if its doable with the heads on the car.

It takes the same amount of time as any other stock diameter dual spring I've ever installed. You need to do a search for the valvespring changing instructions while the heads are still on the car, that will clear up most of the confusion you are having about this. The locks are the "keepers" But, I'll say it again, it is no more complex than any other valvespring swap.

Read the cam and valvespring install article at www.ls1howto.com that will answer alot of your questions.

I just went outside to see if I had the box my Isky's came in to check what they were rated at, but couldn't find it.
I broke 3 1116's with my g5x2, and swapped to the Isky's without any problem in 8000 miles.
I never raced or tracked or drove my car hard when the REV's were on, and broke all 3 within 2000 miles of driving.
