New here, got a 95 rcsb 4.8 swap 5 speed. Just got done with the swap not long ago, and now that its running it has a constant ticking cold, hot, 600 rpm - redline.
Only time it quits is under wot ~3500 rpm and up.
All I can find on it is lifters, but most of the reports I find seam the ticking quits after warm up.
I'm at a loss, I can tell its coming from the driver side but not sure if its high(valve terrain) or low (rod)
What els could cause a consistent ticking that could be heard over "dumped" manifolds (just the short piece of pipe past the o2's)

Just a stock junk yard motor. Still under warranty for a month or so. The first they sent was in horrible shape, valves rusted shut water been sitting in the cylinders, so they sent another that was very clean under the valve covers. And looks as if it was taken care of all its life. It has 131k on it so they say

If the problem involves just one cylinder you can often identify which cylinder by disconnecting one spark plug wire at a time.
There is a list of things, like valve springs, pushrods, etc. you can check by pulling the valve covers.
An exhaust leak at the head can also be pretty loud.

I already pulled the valve covers and all the rockers seam snug and didn't notice any thing out of the ordinary. as far as exhaust leak, would it still tick as loud ad it does considering the manifolds are dumped and there is little to no back pressure?

It goes to the exhaust shop tomorrow around 12-1. Had a small gas leak due to a busted filter, got it replaced today and he said just to be safe, drive it and let it "air dry" a day before welding on it.
