Default MTi Heads with a X-2 Cam??

Looking into buying a 2002 Camaro Z28 with these mods done to the engine:

MTi stage 2 with LS-6 ported and flowed heads, X-2 cam with tuning by MTi (426 hp) rear wheels,(486) at the crank.

Are you guys still using this setup? How good is this setup?

Thanks

I have a 2000 formula. When it was an ls1 I had the MTI LS6 stage II heads. I ended up going with the LG motorsports cam (X5 I think), had a 6 spd, 4.10s. Best I ran was a 11.39 at 123.6 so I think they were pretty good. MTI from Houston Texas right? Consistently ran 121 to 122 mph traps. I think it dynoed around 440 on a dynojet.

That used to be "the setup" back in the day. They hand ported their heads in house and were considered a premier LS shop back then. I'm pretty sure the X2 is a reverse split cam.

Cool. I figured the setup was a bit dated seeing how it was built prob back in 02 or 03. I'm guessing the company is not around anymore?

Just because it's dated doesn't negate the fact that it works and still makes great power.

Rise of the Phoenix: Good point. Car seems nasty even on a 12yr old set up

Pretty close to pulling the trigger and buying this car. Anyone else have any opinions on this setup? Thanks

I ran the MTI X1 cam and lked it. I made 395rwhp stock heads through an auto.

MTI 2E/X1 was there go to head and combo for daily driver. I remember seeing customer cars on there old website and every car that ran that setup made 445rwhp without a fast.

Look up poolfanatic and wilwaxu. Those guys ran that setup.

They're still around and active and their products are good. They're still kicking in the vette community.

My understanding is they have been gone for a long time. The MTI in Georgia is unrelated.

Corrected. I had forgotten about them being seperate. That MTI was Houston, right?

MTI in Houston is long gone. They converted to a car dealership or something, but are gone altogether now?
