Default Aftermarket LS1 camshaft: use it or lose it.

Hello. Been reading a ton here, but still sketchy.

I have stock high mile (100K) 1998 LS1 which I am cramming into a 1973 Vega wagon with a T56.
Running an 8.5 GM rear with 4.10 gears
I plan to autocross the car as well as road course it…..plus frighten the neighbors by driving it..... allot.
It’s a 98 so its got the perimeter bolt valve covers. I'm running the stock tubular looking sheet metal exhaust "manifolds" with the EGR tubes removed & welded up (because they fit!!). Also picked up a LS6 intake.
I obviously don’t “need” allot of power. I picked up a cam with a bunch of other parts. Debating on installing it when I toss an oil pump at the engine.

Lift
in .572
ex .569
lobe center 115
duration@.050
int 230
ex 236

It’s obviously better suited for a boost situation, but thinking of tossing it in, regardless.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Dan

100k isn't really high miles for an LS engine at all

That looks like a pretty good cam to me, do you know if is has any advance ground into it? With a manual trans and 4.10 gears it would work really well with your setup, the only thing I would worry about would be the stock manifolds. Maybe the extra exhaust duration would even help you there?

If it were my car, I would be tempted to run it.

I'd run it. Not much overlap, but that's probably a good thing for stock manifolds.
