Ls1 intake swap to ls6 intake

Default Ls1 intake swap to ls6 intake

Im trying to figure out all the materials i need to do a ls1 intake to ls6 intake i have a 98 z28. I tried looking on internet i keep getting various different answers. From what i found i need this-

1. Ls6 intake of course
2. Ls6 coolant crossover pipe and rear blockoffs
3. Ls6 valley cover

If im missing anything else just let me know. Also if i have the ls6 valley cover would i need to have a catch can set up or either one without the other?While im in there would yall suggest anything else to replace or upgrade? Thanks in advance

U don't NEED the LS6 valley pan or the coolant tubes. You can use the LS1 tubes if you break off the fins on the bottom of the manifold that interfere.

Coolant crossover pipe and plugs

Pull the plastic connectors for the knock sensor wires off.

EGR blockoff plates if you dont have off road headers.

Can you do the ls6 valley cover and retain the ls1 coolant lines,??

On my 99 Vette I used a multiple tool and ground off the fins to allow the intake to fit over the ls1 coolant lines. No problem at all here

Man, I dont see why you can't. As mentioned above I think that you will have to clearence a few things for it.

Is there a upside to using the "new " style ls6 valley cover than the "old" style? Also why would I pull the plastic connectors for the knock sensors off? Thanks for the info guys

A new oil pressure sending unit, if your not a rocket surgeon then your going to break the old one when your remove the ls1 intake
