currently looking for another shortblock or block for that matter. lol at A.R. Shale Targa's comment. yea the car's not going anywhere except the shop once i get a another block. **** never stops so i can enjoy it...

a bit of an update. my buddy's shop ran a leakdown test and all of the cylinders except #7 were in the 40-50% and #7 was at 75% :-(

40-50% leakdown? That's still a tad high. Around 20% is where you want to be. Even 30% could be okay.

75 is definitely bad.

fwiw the tool used was a harbor freight leakdown test tool(i bought it for my buddy to use). i dont know if there's a proper procedure or if he did it or not.

Here is the way the truck goes hook up there catch cans. Drivers side pvc to top of can and side of can to middle manifold drivers side. Look at pic.

If the PCV is the only engine vent, it will blow the PCV out during high rpms everytime. You need to have some sort of breather on that thing! You might start pushing the front and rear seal out if you keep driving it. At least take the cap off of your other valve cover and let it just vent with a hose going in a loop. i'm not running a breather and there is no prob with crankcase pressure... breathers stink up your cabin really bad and make the car really unpleasant to drive... i just have a mike norris catch can with a y fitting from passenger valve cover and valley ports merging to the can and being pulled through the intake... no problems with pressure and doesn't use a drop of oil
