Default BTR Stage 4 vs Tsunami

Can anyone tell me the major differences between the two cams? I currently have the tsunami I got at a bargain, and plan on installing with a set of cnc 243's and ls6 intake. I have all bolt ons an m6 with 4.10's. Was wondering if I should sell the tsunami and get the btr or keep it if there wasn't a huge difference in the two. Any other recommendations are welcome!

Not worth the time and money IMO! I'd just keep the current one

I am actually open to any cam suggestion that might be better, and works with my other mods(243's, intake, etc..) also, forgot to add I will occasionally be spraying 150-200 n2o. Maybe Martin, PatG, or Brian can chime in as well as others..

Honestly I don't think it's worth swapping to any cam unless you just have time and money to burn lol. That tsunami cam is pretty good, so it's just not worth it, but that's just one guys opinion Also that cam will do just fine on a 10-200 shot

The BTR may be a little easier on the springs and rocker tips IDK for sure. Research P/V as well. I ordered the IV and had to send it back(they swapped it out for a III ) after learning to tight with anything other than stock clearance heads. Mine were only cut .015 and Brian said no way without fly cutting.

I am just worried about a loss of low end, but maybe with the heads and intake it won't lose too much.

Dude you got 4.10's...screw the minute loss in low end tq lol. Besides what are you building here...a daily driver economy car or a badass weekend warrior/stip car lol? I mean you can't build a HCI LS1 car that makes great power and also have all the low end tq of a stocker...it's a total contradiction in terms lol

True..guess that's what the squeeze is for huh! I just didn't want to completely kill the low end, everyone on here always saying these larger cams destroy low end, don't use them, etc...but I was thinking the cam plus heads ans intake and gears would be a pretty good setup..but I'm no expert either haha!

If you get that stage 4 be sure to get the biggest stall that you can comfortably drive.

And what leave it in the trunk for extra weight? But as with any heads and cam car I hope he has a good clutch, stock ones don't always last very long.

Got a Spec 3+ going in tomorrow. Heard good and bad about them, we'll see I guess.

Just an FYI when I talked to Tooley he recommended stock 243s vs Ported 243s.

The BTR Stage IV will probably make more power due to the valve events, but the Tsunami has more aggressive lobes to close the gap. If you already have the Tsunami, I'd just run that. But if it's used, I'd examine it very closely for wear signs.

No sense in doing a cam swap in my opinion. You may net a 5 or so HP gain, which in my opinion is not worth it.

Thanks guys! Guess I'll stick with the tsunami I have. Any idea why to stick with unported 243's vs the cnc'd?

Not worth the swap. Gains would be negligible.

Don't fall into the everchanging LSX trap. I have changed the set-up direction of my car for 5 years now. Several of my friends have done the same and most ended up selling the Frankenstein monsters they finally ended up with. If you have a good running set-up maintain what you have a learn to drive it to the best of your ability. Upgrade the consumable parts when they are going out (clutch, brakes, etc.) and be happy.

I have the BTR Stage IV and love it. Sounds bad ***! Hopefully I will have it on the dyno by next week.
