Cracked ls1 block
If the shop refuses to pony up they know YOU have the burden of proving they did wrong. I'd post up their name all over the net with bad reviews so if anyone ever does a search on them at least something will come up about it.

It's up to my friend to decide what he wants to do with straightline. I can only hope people see this and think twice before they trust that shop with their car. My friend's car has been out of commission for almost a year now. When he told the shop about the pcv and coolant lines being crossed the response was along the lines of if that was the case it wouldn't run. Obviously it did and they don't want to own up and fix it.

And for this reason the engine broke. The work was done incorrectly.
After the work, any amount of running would've resulted in coolant beginning to fill the engine. Had the shop checked the oil level on the dipstick they would've caught it.
This is grounds to get any and all your monies back-including remove & install charges, all labor and any parts you or the shop provided.
Get a lawyer. Stand your ground.
I see nothing but good coming from this, I lost a brand new engine to World wide racing in Opa-locka Fl is how I learned to do it all for my self, guy name Frank (head mechanic) empty all engine oil run the hell out of it put oil back in and called me said car was ready, picked up the car got home hardly staid running, looked at oil pressure 0 plenty of oil checked the bearings and all were chew up in a way can't happen with oil ever, took engine apart my brand new Callies dragon slyer crank was cracked in the thrust bearing area and one rod bearing had turned.
I never asked for discount or ever had any nasty word with any one at that shop ever in fact I helped them get their shop electrical wiring straighten out for them on my time no charge to them. only thing I can think off that triggered Frank was envy.
Last trip to a shop for me.
