ZO6 cam into a stock LS1
Hello Everybody.
When installing a zo6 cam into a stock LS1 do you have to upgrade to LS6 pushrods and valves or can you get a way with standard items and change the springs?

Will LS6 valve springs be ok in an LS1 head or should I get stronger springs when not using LS6 ligthweight valves.
In other words can I use LS6 springs with LS1 valves or will the weight of standard valves cause valve bounce or collapse? Anyone done so?
Does anyone know how much lift LS6 springs can take, what there rated at?

go with the 7.400" pushrod. My reason for saying this is:
a) being shorter will keep the lifter pumped up higher (closer to zero preload)
b) 7.400" works fine (countless numbers of engines have run this setup)
The reason they say use the light weight valves is that lighter valvetrain means the valve springs don't have to be as stiff to hold the valve closed (easier on the springs). Again, the LS6 cam with LS1 valves and LS6 springs has been done MANY times and people don't seem to be having any problems. I personally like more valve spring pressure so would just step up to the 918s but thats just personal "makes me feel good" and is not a requirement.

i made 34 wrhp from just my Z06 cam and springs., It brought me up from 326 to 361hp, now with the headers and rt cats, and MTI tune i have 384wrhp. Thats along with all the usual bolt on's (lid, maf, pulleys). So i would say that cam is a good Mod to do if you like stealth.
