Need Oil Pump Reccomendation - Road Course 01 Z06 LS6 w/ Add-On Oil Cooler

Thanks for your interest in LS Pumps. The larger volume pumps are a must for the external plumbing you have. Dont be scared it has been done more than you think. Theonly issue with the large volume pumps are the timing chain rubbing. It may need spaced and some grinding. Keep this extra work in mind. The 10296 is minimum choice or 10355
Thanks, Doug

The main problem with the factory pump is that it starts to cavitate, aerating the oil and reducing flow at higher RPMs:
You want a pump that doesn't exhibit this cavitation issue if you're running at high RPMs. If you have an oil cooler setup, the cooler and lines will generate a pressure drop in the oil system, so a pump that has a higher pressure relief spring rating than stock is also desirable.
You don't necessarily want a pump that flows significantly higher volumes than stock, because you can end up emptying out the oil pan faster than it can drain back to the pan during sustained high-G maneuvers, leading to oil starvation. We don't really recommend the Melling 10355 for this reason. The Melling 10295 is a good choice, as is the 10296.
