Default 5.3 ls build

I am doing a 5.3 build, and its my first ls build, I have done lots of gen 1 engines, just looking to do a quick build see how it turns out, its 05 5.3, got a set of ls1 heads that have been mildly ported, ls3 cam and timing cover with cam sensor in cover, and going carbureted with single plane edelbrock and msd kit, interested in what I would be looking at HP/tq wise, thanks

I think high 300s at the crank with that Combo I think you will be better off with 862 castings heads vs 241

for a budget build I would get a set of 4.8 flat top pistons, take the ls1 2.00" valves and get them cut into the stock 5.3 heads. Don't waste your time with a ls3 cam since its a single bolt cam and you need a 3 bolt gen III cam. Check the for sale section and medium to small cams can be found for cheap. If you stay under 560 lift ls6 valve springs don't forget about 7.4" pushrods if your going with a aftermarket cam or car cam assuming your heads aren't milled much.

Turbo makes the larger chambers on the LS1 head make sense. Static would be in the 8.x range? Stock 5.3 pistons are dished.

So do you guys think I have a solid idea going, or maybe re-hit the drawing board?
