Default need some serious help...

I posted this in the LT1 section but no responses...hopefully there are some LT1 lurkers in this section.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

ok, I've been working on my friends LT1 for about 7 months now. We've had the heads off 3 times now due to the fact the guy that ported his heads put the wrong spring seats on (long story), but finally we got it to run!! Now after we set the valve lash, there is a ticking on the passenger side. We think its a bad lifter. Is there anyway to tell before we start tearing it down again? I believe he has some computer software to scan it. Any suggestions??

Thanks
John

You mentioned valve lash. Is this a solid roller setup? If so, then it's not a bad lifter, since they're pretty much indestructable. If this is a hydraulic setup, what spring pressures are you running? Need some more detail.

They resemble the 987's. He also put in crane 1.6 roller tipped rockers as well.
