Well, that makes it "1" faster, doesn`t it.

As far as the LS6 cam....I have decided to go with it because I have seen too many people making 370-390rwhp through stock heads with just this cam and bolt ons. Plus you don`t *need* a tune, and the only parts you really need are gaskets, springs, and the cam. New, all those parts can be had for $300. Plus you don`t need to change the springs every 25,000 miles. I was considering a "bigger" used cam, but most of the people I`ve talked to that were selling them were only dyno`ing 5-10rwhp more than the LS6 cam.

Mods in sig, I will be changing my heads to either TEA 5.3l 1.5's or afr milled .030 and keeping my LS6 cam, I will also be changing the shitty flowing flowtech y-pipe with a custom made one, my heads are homeported and flow 275@.550 intake 213@.550 exhaust but i know that the bewtter chamber design of the TEA or AFR's will make lots more power than my home ported heads. For what its worth I only had to pay for the cam, pushrods, springs, and gaskets since i ported the heads myself and the only thing I would have done differently is buy a GREAT set of heads and not waste time of having to change heads again, the cam is staying in my car until I blow the motor up.

I dissagree, tuning the 02LS6 cam especailly if u have ptb, headers,hf cats, exhaust, pulley should net better results..Easily u could be leaving 12 to 20 RW on the table w/o tuning for best power....I'd agree with Vortech and go with AFR 205's milled to achieve 11.2CR...

I'm running a 214-222 559-566 115+4 along with shorty headers, ptb and pulley...My cam is better suited for shorties (Big Dur. split) and I'll be adding 205 AFR's or 203 Edlebrocks to my setup...I believe 375RW threw my AUTO will be attainable with a dead stock idle which is what I wanted with my GTO.....Figuring a 5% less loss threw a 6sp car and u could make 390+ with a setup like mine threw shortys, stock cats and exhaust....

These new mild thought out setups are very intreguing to me (Vortechs) (PatrickGs) and I wanted to mimic their setups...I'd listen to these guys when talking about max power mild setups, they know what works and what doesnt...

Vortech is going to the CheatR cam but is testing shorties out 1st on his 414RW setup now.He has a LS6 cammed C5 with AFRS threw manifolds and I think he is going to be suprized at what he pulls after retuning with the shorties and then the CheatR cam..

Keep your eyes posted on his results....
I think he is going to be in the 440 to 450 range with a dead stock idling C5

I might be crazy but after doing a search there are a bunch of guys claiming 25-30 hp gains from a 02 ls6 cam swap. If you are looking for a bone stock idle and stock drivability it sounds like a great option. Sure you can make more power with a larger cam but that doesnt mean its not worth doing. just my .2 ....

I agree back on topic Lookin still to get some kix. LoL! I didn't read all teh tech on the z06 cam, but it revs, it's reliable, and makes serious power in vettes or custom projects fo a gradual cost ratio +a vailability. Plus future updates work well with heads.
