I like the last pic , although I'm not too fond of the purple but whatever floats your boat. It will be nice to see how it looks when complete. Is this going to be straight for show?

Black Vette', polished chromed and purple anodized. 800 HP. Floats my boat. I hope to show it next summer if they will have me and I will drive it (not in the rain). Except for engine machine work I have done all of it 100% myself including all the plating and anodizing. Wait till you see the intake when its finished.

thats purdy

but i thought fully polishing the combustion chamber and intake runners was a bad thing (for hot spots and fuel atomization)???

That sounds great. Thing is, I have a hard time picturing the finished product because this could turn out very nice or very bad, all depends on the person doing it. I bet you are proud/happy for accomplishing so much. The only thing I "may" not care for is the purple anodizing, however it "could" look very nice. Keep us posted. Props to you for making a sweet looking car so far.

polishing the chamber is a good thing... the carbon cant cling to it as easily, and the finer the surface, the less peaks to get hot....

with carbed cars, you dont want the intake runners perfectly smooth because you want the fuel to remain suspended in the air, and that requires a bit of a tumble near the walls.... but with fuel injected cars aimed like ours, i doubt it makes any diff at all....
