Default new motor started have smoke coming out of breather filter

Ok i have a new motor that has been sitting or a yr or so all lubed and coated and in plastic bad in garage. I finally got it started today and it is blowing smoke out the breather catch can? I have might mouse catch can 2 lines off each valve cover. Only had car running for maybe 1 to 2 min. Is this just the lube on cyl or have therings not seated yet? Is this normal? Thanls

Could be very normal although I'd want to know why you don't have vacuum pulling that into the manifold. Are you sure that the PCV is plumbed correctly

i have no pvc just to lines coming from valve covers going into mighty mouse catch can. Should have something else hooked up?

Until the rings seat you may see some blowby. There are different ways to hook up the catch can. One is the way you hooked yours up another is using PVC https://ls1tech.com/forums/12168945-post20.html
If you are seeing what you think is to much smoke you could run a leak down test to see what may be causing the problem.

just want to add that i did have a back fire when trying to start first time. But it idles fine no noise. no exhaust smoke. Its a a.e.s 408 with a single pt88 turbo. Only a few minutes of idle waiting for coil overs to arrive. I have a build thread going in conversions

Without vacuum from the manifold or a vacuum pump to pull the gases through the catch can they are doing pretty much nothing.
