Default Location of part# for ls1 heads

Hey guys, I bought a 2002 35th Edition Z28 this past November and when I bought the vehicle the current owner told me the car had LS1X heads. Now I'm not very familiar with the internals of this particular vehicle yet so I was going to do some reasearch on the heads part# but can't seem to find it. Can anyone tell me where the part# is located on the heads on the ls1?

Thanks!

Is the car stock? Look at the outer corner of the heads and they should have a 3 digit casting number.

No car isn't stock. It has a few engine mods. Has port and polished intake, long tube pace setter headers, and a mild cam. All that i see on the outside of the heads is "LS1X" written is silver sharpie. Can't seem to locate the part#. Will it be on the drivers side or passenger side? I was going to buy the car regardless if it had aftermarket heads, I just can't seem to find that number. I've had some of my friends look and they can't find it either.

There will be a casting number on the heads. 241 casting number is what you should be looking for since it's a 2002. The casting number will be on the front of the head.

That needs to be the new mod for anyone who has stock heads. Get out the black sharpie and write AFR, Trick Flow, MAST, PRC, etc. on the face of the heads. I believe that mod will at least net you 45 rwhp over stock castings.

Thats exactly what I thought, too. The guy I bought the car from had no idea what he was talking about. I bought the car based off of how nice it was, not because of "having aftermarket heads". I had taken a couple things apart and found out stuff that was done to it that the previous owner had no idea about, so I didn't believe him in the first place. I was just trying to find the casting number to prove he was full of crap, just wasn't able to find it. Thanks for the help guys!
