Default Can someone please help me (LS1 radiator)

I recently bought an aftermarket LS1 radiator from J2 motorsports, and it's missing this connection. What is it? And what should I do about it? I bought the right radiator for my car, according to them, so why doesn't it have it?

Thanks for any help!

My mechanic said it was for the throttle body. Why wouldn't my radiator have it?

If its for the throttle body then don't worry bout it bc people usually delete or reroute that so hot coolant doesn't go through your throttle body.

The steam line is that little crossover line under the intake manifold. It goes through the throttle body (this is where most bypass it), then to the radiator. I don't know why your radiator wouldn't have it. Maybe they intended for you to splice it in elsewhere (maybe via a Tee in the reservoir line) or they relocated the port. Or they just forgot to add it altogether. I'd just ask the manufacturer what their intent was.

It is indeed that, so thanks everybody! And the reason my J2 radiator doesn't have it is (I'm thinking) that it's an aftermarket performance radiator for people who have installed racing throttle body's and intakes, thus not needing it. It is a little overkill for an LS1 SS with just an LS6 intake added, but I wanted to prepare for future mods as much as possible, and the damn power steering fluid has been killing me by getting so hot. They're installing my power steering fluid cooler, too. Hope that works for that finally.

Well you should just delete the power steering then if you plan on having a **** load of more mods done.

Not really more than someday doing the FAST intake/throttle body set up, with headers and exhaust done. Going to get subframe connectors and re-lower the car right (the last guy did it cheap. I can tell.) with Koni's and a BMR lowering package, but that's pretty pricey so it will take some time. I really like having power steering when it's working right, and I won't be racing.

Hi, just wondering how you made out with the J2 radiator? I'm thinking about buying one for my 2000 SS.

Thanks
