Default Best intake for me

I have a 02 trans am ls1 with a cam 232/239 .595/.605 111lsa ,ls6 intake , stock 241 heads, and basic boltons well I made 375 rwp! I'm planning on getting a fast intake but I don't know whether to get a 92 or a 102!!! Can somebody tell me the ups and downs on both of them? What all would I have to change to put either on on like fuel rails or grind stuff like most say with the 102

I'm in the same boat as you man. I really think I'm gonna port the heads first before I get the fast. Should be around the same price if I do the labor myself.

The 102 is physically bigger, so it will have potential for a few more horses; especially if it's ported well. Both are definitely a nice upgrade over the LS1/6 intakes .

Personally I think you already have the best intake for you.

If you go with the 92 you can reuse your stock fuel rail/injectors. Except for changing the valley cover bolts and steam tube it's pretty much a bolt in.

With the 102 you will either have to get an LS2 fuel rail or aftermarket. Depending on what injectors you use you will either have to get spacers for the fuel rails, two different sized injector o rings OR get wiring adapters; LS1 and LS2 injectors use different plug ins.

You will either have to grind your waterpump and/or T/B for clearance issues or use a water pump from a LS2 GTO.

IMO, FWIW the extra cost with getting a 102 is not worth the minimal gains on a stock headed motor.

Which leads me to my next thought. Keep your LS6 intake and either buy a set of heads of have your heads ported. You will see a much larger gain from the improved cylinder heads even stock 243's

A good set of ported stock heads(depending on what you go with) is going to be about the same price as a 102 and all of the other things that go with it.

Just my .02

^^^ I agree with him. Go with the 92. Doesn't sound like you're trying to break any stock bottom end HP records, so the 92 will be an improvement over what you have now and cost you less to swap over than the 102.

You agree with him? He said stay with the LS6 and have heads ported. That's what I would do also. Ask me how I know.

In regards to the 92 over the 102.

I say keep the LS6, screw the fast intakes, and for the same money get a nitrous kit and make 10 times that power...that's just me though

I agree heads would be first. Yours don't seem matched well for the cam you have. I made 396 with stock heads and a smaller cam. I went with the 102 after dong everything else first and running out of low hanging fruit. With a NW 102 TB and BBK rails I gained 18 RWHP and 20 RWTQ. Once you get up a little more HP you're going to need injectors anyways.

If you had the LS1 intake, I would consider the FAST a necessity, but your LS6 will still flow pretty well.

Heads should be your next move.

The ls6 is a good intake and I agree heads will make more power but if you want the most from your setup sooner or later you'll need a FAST right now a ported 9 should be worth a solid 15 or more from what you have.

The nice thing about today is that people are over paying for ls6 intakes. I just sold my ls6 after I got my fast on, on ebay with the tb and rails it sold for $650 plus shipping and hte sad part is that wasnt uncommon from what I saw on there. With prices like that the FAST isnt such a bad deal.

With that said the 102 will make a tad more power but the 92 would allow you to keep your injectors and fuel rails as well as not have to relocate the MAP sensor or grind the wp.

My car is running really rich right now and I think the guy that tuned my car didn't do a good job at all that's why my car only made 375 but I'm gonna go with the fast before I get heads

find a pair of 243's or 799's fo $400-500 and have them worked, be a better way to spend $1k imo. Interesting numbers on that cam, I'm making 376rwhp with a ssht and stock 241's stock ls1 intake

what trans are you running? I'd expect a little more from an auto but an m6 should be nearing 400 depending on the dyno. if you want to do a fast the 92 is the easier option. If I didnt need new injectors anyway and already had a meziere wp i would have gone 92 purely for the ease of installation

Personally i would pick up a set of used 243's. Have a really good valve job done by TEA or AI and keep the LS6 intake. That large of split on the cam will work good with stock heads. I would also up the compression ratio some and look at a thinner head gasket to improve quench.

Depending on your drive train setup I would expect to see 420-430hp w/ some killer torque.
