Default cam suggestions for stock heads

I am looking to get back into the fbody world after being out for a while and with all the new goodies out there I wanted to get some recommendations on a cam to run on stock heads. I'm looking to have a full bolt on M6 car that makes decent power but still can be driven daily. I was looking at the ms3 but didnt know if it could be run with stock heads. Anyone got any suggestions?

Yes you can run that cam with stock heads but you will want a steeper gear

You can use the MS3 with stock heads no problem. If I was in the market again for a cam only set up; I would go with the Streetsweeper HT, or one of the newer Tick grinds.

I have a friend running the Ed Curtis streetsweeper smaller version (I think it was 224/228 or something in that area) on a 112. He made excellent power with it and 241 heads.

Are the modifications in your signature the current modifications installed on the vehicle?

Any of the max effort Stage 3/4 type camshafts will require all the supporting modifications needed to perform optimally.

A custom 227/234 (LSL/XE) 111+2 would be a good choice with stock compression while maintaining some drivability.

This is getting way too common...

Dial it back 2-3 notches from max effort cams or you're going to have a bad time.

I had excellent results with a FTI Street Sweeper HT cam with stock heads, SLP LTs, 80mm TB and MAFless with an underdrive on my M6 LS1 GTO. I was just over 400 RWHP on a DynoJet. Tuning was the key (I did my own) and in the end I could lug it at 1,200 RPM in 6th gear with no surging.

I also have the streetsweeper ht with stock heads and it makes great power and is easy to drive. I could easliy daily drive it if I wanted to.
