Alright you internal gurus, I am looking to do a top end refresh for my car (99k ws6 m6). I want more power but reliability and decent mpg so nothing over the top for this. I was thinking, PRC 215 heads, FAST 92, MS3 cam, new ls6 ported oil pump and an ls2 chain, TSP rods, and new ls7 lifters. I am lost as far as what would be ideal for springs/rockers. Should I also do rockers and if so which ones? Any idea on how much power this would make over stock? Any other ideas for cams/heads that would fit what I am looking for? Thanks!
My 215s ms4 and fast 102 went 10.92 at 126 in a stick car that was slightly lightened up. That was at 1800 feet. That set up will make good power just know that drive ability and mpg will go down. My car got around 22mpg on the interstate and 15 around town with 410s. Keep the stock rockers and do trunions just make sure pushrod length is right and tsp will ship the heads with the springs you'll need when you order.
On valvesprings I would do btr platinum springs and as far as rocker arms goes I would do the trunion kit. My buddies has the trunion kit on his 275 tire class 408 LSX with a 98mm turbo. Car still screams 5 sec passes in the eighth mile and it's street driven
Is there a budget for this build? that will dictate a lot for what you are wanting to do. The MS3 is pretty aggressive for a 346, maybe look into the Tick SNS cams.
Ya on second thought, this cam may be the wrong one for me. Maybe I was thinking the 228r? I am looking for a streetable cam that will get me more power. I would like to keep my 3.42 gears for now until I can move to a built rear end and 3.73s.

Any reason why you recommend these?

Id like to keep it around 4k or so and will be doing all the work myself. I think the ms3 is not what I need and am getting it confused with a more streetable cam I had researched (228r perhaps?)

If you have any questions pertaining to your build I would be more than happy to help you answer them.
Why do you recommend these? I am definitely wanting to go the "buy once cry once" route but don't want anything I do not need.
If your not looking for a max effort set up you may be better off cost wise to just run a ported stock casting. With 342s I would stay in the mid to upper 22x duration range.
Less weight on the valve train using Ls1 rockers, trunion upgrade is just so that the needle bearings don't go flying everywhere, I usually stay around 6800 rpm but motor has seen 7200 on Ls1 rockers with no valvetrain issues
