I went through a well known and HIGHLY respectable individual. I don't know when they'll be available, but I'm on the rig till the 30th anyway, so I'm in no rush.

Lol. This is something I've been contemplating for a while actually. I even think I made a thread about it in the past.

It'll be nice to actually have a DOCUMENTED Mast small bore thread for once. Then it'll save someone else from all the research I attempted to do.

Blackwing intake

With the heads I'll be installing the ARP studs (already have)
.40 or .41 head gasket (Cometic or FelPro)
LS6 ported pump
Hinson C7R seamless timing chain / billet gears, Torrington bearing
POSSIBLY Katech rod bolts

Rear will be getting 3.90's with C6z guts and shafts

The kicker here is spec'ing a cam that not only works with the large runner heads, but has sufficient (more than most) overlap to take full advantage of the Tri-Y headers.

If I may...do not hesitate on a very good set of lifters as well as on pushrods.
You will enjoy the investment down the road.

You know you just moved up a few social classes now that you have MAST heads. Pretty soon, you'll be too good to hang out with the likes of the rest of us.

Absolutely the plan. Undecided on full 3/8 or a double taper like vettenuts did. Currently undecided between Morel 5206's or Johnson 2116LSR, both being tie-bar style.

Good to see you stop by, Christian. Hope all is well

Doc,
You might check with ED for the lifters...
For the pushrods, the Manton Series 5-3/8-0.095 should be on the top of your list...

And congrats on this wise buy!

Badass!!! Now SIG and myself aren't the only ones on the board. So far I've got the heads, morel 4708 drop ins which I got for a good price, ls2 trays, trick flow 8.050 pushrods, and ati super damper, and can't remember what else. Should be sweet when our cars are done. Now you got me wanting to finish mine up again.

You might want to call SDPC. I think it was about a month ago I saw they had LS3 intakes, rails, injectors, and TB's for $500 on ebay. I don't see any listed now but maybe they will have them again soon.

That's not HORRIBLE by any means, but I know I can do better. Plus, the LS3 gold blade TB is useless to me. I'd need an LS2/7 silver blade.

Brian Tooley had some neat cryogenically treated and micro polished stock LS3 rockers with his Trunion upgrade on his website, but it looks like he's out of stock. I'd really like to know more about them.

CRS Cryo-treated and REM Isotropic Finished or Micropolished rocker arms. The rocker arm bodies are individually inspected, cryo-treated, and micropolished. These rockers arms are fitted with our TK001 trunnion kit.

It's just odd... Why are there used ones being sold? I'd need to talk to Brian about them.

Why not I'd buy them. I don't see new one's a being any better than inspected cryo treated and REM polished used one's.

I'm kind of surprised we don't see more cryo treated parts on here, I've heard valve springs can last almost twice as long, and piston rings and bearing also showing less wear than normal on race motors after tear down. Along with some sort of benefit to treating nearly every other engine part you can think of.

All true statements. I've been thinking about it in the back of my mind on other various parts.

I'm just wondering "how" they were used and why they're for sale, that's all.

My guess would be they're mostly from LY6 and L92 truck motors.

No experience with the small bore ls3 heads. However I have seen 3 local cars with the black label ls7 heads. All three ran way better than they should have and made dyno numbers to support the track times.

On the rockers, gm parts has em priced the best but I've read they're pretty slow with getting em out to you. Pace performance has em at a decent price as well. That's whom I bought my small bores from.

Nitrous car ran 9.70's on Radials in a c6z, the two all motor cars ran mid 10's without the driver mod lol. Hp numbers have all been mid 600's with cam and heads, stock intake. All cars were within about 10hp on motor, with slightly different cam specs. The nitrous car was high 800's on a 200 hit.

Wouldn't you need a full roller rocker arm or does Mast have the powdered metal guides?
