Reading this thread from beginning to end is like watching a movie and it coming to an abrupt halt without a clear ending, haha.

Two things to clarify from some previous posts. None of the Morel lifters are cast. They are all made from bar stock. None of them are tool steel. There is a difference between the cheaper units vs. the high end units, but that is to be expected. I believe Jesel makes a tool steel lifter, but there really is no benefit from it.

I am trying to figure what lifters to run. I plan on making 500rwhp NA from an LS2. I was simply looking at the LS7 lifters or the low end Morel 5315 lifters.

Seems like all lifters have issues, regardless of brand or high/low end, so I feel like simply just sticking between those two options.

I will offer you this thought: GM could have picked any lifter available to put in the COPO Camaro. Cost was of little considerarion and the Johnsons certainly are not the cheapest. They chose the Johnson lifter.

I'm pulling my heads just to install new Johnson 2116 lifters. I'm never skimping on lifters again.

Bolts, fluids, gaskets, ls7 lifters is about the same price as the johnson drop ins. I could have just gotten those to begin with, but now I am doing the job twice because of bad lifter ticking.

The price hurts, but at least it only hurts once and you can be pretty certain if your motor ***** the bed, it's not from the lifters.
