Hey guys I just got a camed spec'd by Texas Speed and was curious to know what you think of it. It is a 1996 S10 with a 5.3 from a 2000 Silverado. It is weekend only with a few trips to the track. I am keeping the truck intake. Keeping the 862 and porting and polishing them. We said it would be good with auto or manual and I haven't decided. He did say that a 32-3400 stall would be needed. I will also be using at least 150 wet shot. His thoughts were 28/228 .588 .588 112 LSA. what do you think?

That's one of their off-the-shelf cams, the 228R. It uses XE-R lobes.
If you go with their suggestion use good springs, pushrods and really consider upgrading your lifters.

I have ls7 lifters and the cam comes with their springs and pushrods. Do I need new rockers?

Trunnion kit for the rockers, stock rockers are good but the bearings can use an upgrade.

228 is plenty big for a 5.3l I might even stay smaller.

Thanks Guys! One more question, this kits comes with pushrods. What size do I get? I know I can buy a pushrod length checker but doesn't the cam have to be in to get the right size? And since im used the stock heads cant I just use the stock length?

If it comes with pushrods then they will be correct length. You can not use stock length.

Well the cam doesn't come with one specific length. They have many potions to choose from. It doesn't come with a standard one. You have to choose a size right when you order it.
