5.3 input
So I'm new to the ls series world and want to get into for my new toy.I have a 72 monte carlo.I grew up with small block chevys for racing and I still race but wanted something else in my monte.so I'm going to switch it to a 5.3 l with a 4l60e trans. My question is what does everyone think of the aluminum 5.3ls.I just picked one up real cheap and would also like to know what to do to get alot of power?
You might want to try posting this up over in the Gen IV section since your LH6 is one and you're posting in the Gen III section lol. I would also try to ask some more specific questions as well as give us your goals for the car/engine and what kind of budget you're working with so people don't start recommending $3k heads if they aren't in your budget...
That being said, your engine is a really good starting point as it should already come with the better flowing 243/799 heads and flat top pistons (for better 9.9:1 compression). Depending on what year the engine is it might also have the better flowing truck intake which may be ugly but works really well for a stocker. Here's some additional info about your engine in case you want to know a little more about where your baseline is at: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-lh6-info.html
Good luck with your project dude sounds like it's going to be fun when you're done
