Default What heads are these ???

I'm wondering what heads these actually are. Have NO cast numbers whatsoever that I can see. It has the torque sequence markings and a letter B and that's all I can see.

Any ideas ??

Exhaust runners and combustion chambers will tell you what they are.

9/10 times is serial numbers are gone, they are heads that were supposed to be destroyed and should have never left GM.

could be the case. Or maybe they are aftermarket ones? Normally the gm ones will still have gm stamps inside the heads around rocker arm area, but I can't find anything at all on these. Just the letter B on the front of the heads.

What's the history on the heads?

Did they come from the junk yard? Did they come as part of a bigger purchase?

Is it possible that the previous owner can share some details? Right now, there isn't a lot of data you have given us to go on, aside from you have a set of heads with almost no markings.

Maybe fixedup procomps? They don't have any marking next to the deck surface under the intake runners? Some of the patriot castings had ls6 or 6.0 cast in that location. Are they ported?

If they are kinda big, they could be 853`s. They were cast different than the newer stuff. Kinda like a in cast triangle that was shaved down a little.

Ok, previous owner is a mate and said the Engine was purchased back in 2007 as a crate engine. ( no is X027815 ). The mechanic who has done all my own engines for years now actually put this engine in the car. As it was 8 years ago and he has done hundreds since , all he could remember is it was a crate engine from the states, cam was in 240's / 250' s duration, heads were ported/modified, it's a 408ci. He said compression was done so a blower could be added down the track. Spacers were used as yella terra 1.7 roller rockers were used. Thats about all he can remember about it.

I had pro comp cnc ported heads on my last ls1 which had no markings where Cast Number Is OR Inside But They Did Have a 'PC' number etched into the end of head near water pump.
