I couldn't get the link to post correctly! But if you copy that and paste it in your search bar it will pull it up!

Wow that's a hall for a tuner. I am lucky and speedinc is only 45mins away. Do you have a starter tune on it to drive it up there and seat the rings or will you be trailering it there?

It's got my old setup tune on it... 346... Ms3 cam and prc heads and bbk intake so it idles fairly decent very lean though... I'll be hauling it up there, I've been making few trips around town trying to get a few miles out on it

In for results. I thought I was slow (and I am). Even with weeks of parts delays though I got mine built in 3 1/2 months. it's also very convenient just having to walk out the garage to tune it. As meticulous as your build is it may be time to pick up a tuning suite.

I've searched for an answer with little success. What benefit comes from a smaller cam, or, what disadvantage with a bigger cam? Is that a nitrous specific suggestion? In English, why would you not want to throw the biggest cam you could grind into a 383?

I can appreciate that quintessential hot rod exhaust sound. I like a lopey idle as much as the next car enthusiasts. Both as long as it's not on my car. I like my cars ninja quiet.

That being said, I think using the smallest possible camshaft to achieve your goals is a mark of efficiency. And I hold efficiency in a much higher regard than overall power.

That is why I, personally, would avoid putting the largest cam possible in any motor.

However, you do have a 6+ liter motor, so you are going to need some healthy intake duration. The 4" stroke crankshaft and the piston speed that comes with it, dictates that you need to add a couple more degrees in duration, as well. So the cam will be large enough already, probably in the high 23x's or low 24x's on the intake side. Add 3-6 degrees on the exhaust side. Tighten up the lobe separation to get your desired overlap.

I'm with you on sound but without a restrictive exhaust it starts getting hard to be stealth with cubic inches, LTs and higher overlap cam plus he has 3" pipes. I have Borla Pro XS which are one of the quietest mufflers and giving it part throttle off of idle sounds like I'm in full-out drag race mode.

Ready for results!

I've been out of state for military training otherwise it would have been tuned a few months ago lol and I will post graph and results soon as I know! I did finally run exhaust out the back I hate how t/a's look without tips. As far as the cam choice goes this car is not daily driven and will never be I completely trust Martin with tick performance with his recommendation. The car will probably become less and less of a street car as I can afford to do it.

Default First pull!

First pull on the dyno only took it to around 5700 rpms, have plenty of timing left to add to it and was needing fuel added so this was the first initial pull will update with the final results and a video possibly! Red graph is the current setup vs a old run from before.
