Default 383 build!

Well I had some issues with my ls1 and I ended up getting a great deal on a 383 rotating assembly!
Build will be 383 eagle forged rotating assembly with forged flat top piston with -3 valve reliefs
Prc 225 as cast heads 62cc
Tick custom cam 247/255 632/632 112+3
Ported fast 90/90 combo with direct port nx kit capable to a 300 shot
1 7/8 headers
3 inch true duals x pipe
3800 nitrous converter
Just gonna be a weekend toy/strip car! What's y'all's thoughts? I'm ready to get it to the track!

That's still a large cam even in a 383. Imo, I'd probably run a wider I/E cam duration split, if you plan to go with a 300 shot, like a 243/255. If you go with a higher stall TC, an plan on only using a 100-175 shot then stick with that (247/255 112lsa+3) cam.

I would run a 250 shot on that camshaft without a 2nd thought. Can't wait to see that thing run.

It'll probably be on a 200 shot for a while till I do a standalone fuel system!

Yeah, that is a big cam (27* overlap) should make 520+ RWHP without nitrous

Well it'll only see N/a on the street it'll be nitrous most of the time plus I have a great tuner so I don't think I'll have to hard of a time driving it just wanted a max effort setup full weight and still have ac/heater! Really wanted a nasty street/strip car!

Looks good. I think even with a great tune it's going to be interesting driving it. I'd also invest in some higher end lifters and bigger diameter pushrods as well as rockers or a trunnion upgrade with that cam. I went with a smallish 229/236 .631/.631 111 cam as I wasn't going for max effort but good drive-ability. My stoker runs smooth as silk.

Trunion upgrade is in the mail on its way! And I have bigger diameter push rods also! The car will be speed density tuned and honestly I have a amazing tuner, he made my buddies car with the texas giant cam idle and drive like stock on MAF setup, speed density does help with idling so I'm thinking I'll be ok plus it's just a weekend toy/strip car! Did upgrade to a billet timing setup also with 9 way adjustable sprocket! What kind of power did yours make? What about track times?

I'm speed density and I tune myself. Not sure about numbers yet as it was late, late fall when I finished and I only have 600 miles or so on it. I'll get it dynoed sometime and I'm not really sure if I'll track again. I've been towed home too many times from breaking stuff. Id like to drive it a summer. It is wickedly faster than before. I'm using all but the cam and lifters from before. I had a lifter shatter and fill my engine with metal and after I took the engine apart I thought "as long as I'm in here. . . ."
