Default ls1 (241) heads ok on 6.0l block?

are ls1 heads ok on a 4.0 bore lq4 6.0 block?

They"ll work fine,the main difference is a 66cc chamber on 241 heads and 72cc on 317 head,the317 has same intake port as ls6 .the 241 head will raise your CR about a half a point.

I am aware of the comp difference, just wondered if the combustion chambers diameter on ls1 heads being smaller than 6.0 heads is ok?

use 6.0 gaskets? (6.0 block/ls1 heads)

You"ll have to use a gasket for the 4.0 bore,they work fine.

Would the 241's make more power on a 6.0 than the stock iron heads? with a decent cam of course.

Any time you raise compression you're gonna get more power. It will also be lighter since it's alumninum heads versus iron.

I'm running LS6 heads on a 6.0L block with GM 6.0L headgaskets - it works just fine!

hey JRP be nice.......I am one of those guys who needs evry last bit of info I can find before I get knee deep into a project.....sorry......I guess my real goal here is to figure out which set of heads to use. I don't want to do all this work, and have the old evil red fall flat on her face......Thanks again for the info, I really do appreciate it

I'm new to the site so I've been reading everything I can so I don't ask any questions that have already been answered.
These last posts are right where I'm trying to find answers.
I have an LQ4 6.0L, I'm putting a set of '03 5.3L heads(slightly ported on exhaust side) to bump compression to about 10:1 and putting an LS1 intake on it. Any opinions on what cam to go with?

look into the torquer V3... i had it and LOVED it, didnt make much on the power side compared to say MS3, polluter but it ran AMAZING and spanked a few h/c cars with just the cam in my LS1. thats whats going in my 6.0 in the TA with the 241s

Also reading this for info on my setup, 241 heads ported and polished with my 372ci lq4 with arp headstuds...gotta find a head gasket to work with my 4.030 bore and done lol

Use LS3 or LS9 gaskets, they'll work.
