Default SLP iron short blocks - 402 CI @ 570HP?

So what is this about; I saw an ad in a magazine recently but it did not say too much accept this was an affordable solution to big power (advertized up to 570HP normally aspirated)?

What if you bolted up ported LS6 heads that are milled .055 with a CR of 11.4 in a stock short block; would these heads yield an unacceptably high CR in a 402CI short block?

Thanks...

I don't see even a mention of these blocks on their web page ----------->

I think someone should tell these guys to re-design their web pages they are really poor; can't find a thing.....

Oh well, I guess they are now primarily a mustang shop?

You mean this article, with the cool as hell black car that has nothing to do with SLP an iron block or 402 cubic inches? I can certainly tell you it puzzled me when I first saw it. But it definitely made me want to read the article! Kinda catchy if you ask me.

Na - this was not an article but a short ad by SLP; I forget where it was run but I'll find out tinight and post it Thursday....

The ad did not say anything meaningful about the stats of the engine, whose components they were using, how they measured HP, or the cost...

Ahh, well if you want the info get the May/June issue of Pontiac Enthusiast. There is a full 4 page article on the build up for that setup. It has all the info in it that you are looking for, at least when I read it.

Oh - OK; what is a forged short block? Are the pistons forged, is the crank forged, are the rods forged, or are all of the above forged?

Overall - this seems like a good idea on their part since I have seen Gen 3 iron short blocks from other vendors for much more dough!

What size crank - 4.0"? Can you get it with a dished piston for milled heads?

Their information on the web page is non-existent ----------> Boo!

Does anyone know of a link? Would like to see the actual specs if possible. Seems like a fair deal.
