LS2 C6 or LS1 GTO Hey guys so before I go and spend any money on heads, and cam on my ls1 gto I have a guy who would trade his 2006 c6 with the ls2 for my ls1 gto plus 3500 bucks. My car has 38k miles, and his has 55k. He claims he needs some back seat space, and I drove his car it feels nice, and ill be honest feels a lot quicker than my GTO, but what I want to know is how much performance can be had from the ls2 c6 platform, I was thinking about go for a used ls3 later next year or should I just do the swap?

UPDATE!! We met again this afternoon, drove the cars again I was excited. Then the elephant in the closet came out. It was an R-title vehicle. He then tried to explain what happened. Made it sound not that bad, then his wife said "Show him the pictures 
" He got a little un-easy and said "I left them at home" she then said "No you didn't I have them right here " Car looked awfull heavy front, and passenger side damage.
C6 definitely a better performance platform. My GTO has never been crashed, and I must say its in pretty good shape. So its a no go

Well, that sucks. Vette is a much better platform.
However, wanting to trade you and give you cash should have been pause for concern.
However, I would definitely look at trading up to a C6 Vette. LS2s are okay with them. You can make them stupid fast and they will eat a GTO. They are much lighter and have pretty much better everything in the aftermarket.
