LQ4, 823 heads: PTV clearance, cam choices?
Need some advice/opinions on my low-buck build plan: I've got a complete LQ4 and a damaged but complete LY6. The "plan" is to run the L92/LS3 heads off the LY6 on the stock LQ4 shortblock with a LS2 or LS6 cam. My concern is piston to valve clearance with the stock dished LQ4 pistons given that the LY6 piston has valve reliefs.
Good to go?

First off this thread is 2 yrs old lol
Second, it seems such a waste to use a stock cam even an ls6 or ls2 on that
Third if using the ls2 youd need an ls2 front cover and 1x cam gear as well as extension harness
You can fit a 231ish intake and 238 exhaust (depending on icl and lsa) and be ok. For reg driver id use a 225/231 or something like that. Dont mill the heads though, not really a need for that. Youll make ALOT more power and still be driveable.
