I am to the point of installing and torquing down my oil pan. I have the special gray GM "engine sealant." Does anyone have any pictures of the where and how they applied this? If I dont apply it will it leak?

I read it is supposed to be .8 inch strip. Just not sure how thick of a bead and exactly where in the corners. It looks like to me it shouldn't need it at all. The gasket goes all the way around.

Better to ask now and not have it leak. I am AWD so I have to pull my front axle to fix a pan issue...

Just put a little bit in the corners where the oil pan and Front/rear covers meet.
You don't need much at all.

Just a dab across where the timing cover and rear main cover gaskets connect.
