I need new lifters as I don't want to put my 100k stock LS1 lifters back in my motor and since the LS7s and the Morel 5315s are now absolute trash currently I guess I'm gonna have to break the bank and get these.

They do look like a nice quality lifter

The Johnson Lifter is high quality....I normally recommend my clients spend a little more for the link bar style with the limited travel feature (much better for serious performance), but the drop in lifter you have is a better option than an OEM LS7 style lifter without a doubt.

I'm sure you will get good service from them

Guys I stock practically ALL the LS Johnson lifters available....and also carry the versions with the high pressure pin oiling as well (the axle wheel bearings are constantly lubricated with pressurized oil from the lifter galley).....that's an excellent feature for longevity/reliability and a must have in any endurance engine.

Regards,
Tony

Nothing has happened to the Morel lifter just a few people don't like the fact that they can not buy them direct.

To date I have shipped 1107 sets of 5315's to stocking vendors with little issues. Morel upgraded the lifter to the new axle design. The constant R and D they do with professional race teams allows them to improve the product. I just had the honor of having one of Morels distributors at my place the other day and he discussed the LS market and the growth that both of us have had with little issue.

the morels arent a bad lifter but may not be adequate if you have a big cam and a heavy valvetrain like so many people do. they work fine but imo if there is one place you're going to upgrade the valvetrain its the lifters....they're the hardest to get to and are the source of a lot of valvetrain issues down the line.

If I had extra cash when I built my ls3 and it didnt come with a brand new set of delco lifters alreay in it I would have went with these johnsons myself

nowhere in any research I have done has anybody mentioned the 5315 being trash. That being said, with your setup I would probably go with a Johnson 2110 or the short travel link bar if the motor is going to spend the majority of it's life at high rpm.

I was saying trash as in how those were considered good replacements as were LS7s but now the only option is to buy $600+ lifters. I was being facetious

Just seems like a waste putting $429+ lifters into a 118k SBE lol.

Another reason why I don't want to put nice heads on the car incase the motor goes I don't ruin those either. I don't want o rebuild the LS1 as the cost vs benefit isn't really there.

But yea the Johnson's are only marginally more than the LS7s and Morel 5315s, then the Morel 5206s are only marginally more than the Johnsons.

The **** it while I'm in there always seems to cost you more lol

The 2110's are around 380.00 if you shop around. I knew nothing about them till after I bought my 5315's. I even started a thread asking about lifters and they were never mentioned. The 5315 is what I was pointed towards....go figure. Lol
