Default Valve seals failed! Now what?

OK, had the car in for some work and they noticed the oil pickup in the pan had valve seals clogged on it. So they pull the valve covers and find indeed the valve seals are bad. Had no clue this had happened since the car ran good and had no signs of oil burning.

Question is what should I all do? Besides have new seals and springs installed. Can I check anywhere for oil starvation damage? Any ideas would be great!

Is this for real? lol.

Just replace them all and make sure your springs aren't binding with the valve seals. You're running dual springs I assume?

When duals are either completely toast or not shimmed properly they surge and the inner spring being the smaller lighter weaker one will jump around and do all kinds of crazy **** to the seal. Your pick-up picture amazes me cuz I have a hard time imagining how so many pieces could even fit inside there. To be honest with you, I absolutely think some level of bearing deterioration had to result from that insane oil obstruction. Good Luck on your fix !!!!

You really only have two choices at this point. If there is damage, it will show itself with more mileage. You can either drop a couple of rod caps and look at the bearings or clean out the pickup, put the pan back on and run the car to see what happens. Either way, if there is damage it will show up.

I think I would run it and hope for the best.

Never saw it on one of our motors, but at work I found timing chain guides sucked up into the oil pick up causing the timing to jump. I truely hope there was no oil starvation though.

Someone tell me how all those valve seals made their way off the valve stem, then through dual springs.
