Default Stock 99 SS, Z06 Cam Swap Dyno Results, 23 rwhp

I just installed a 02 z06 cam in a 99 SS camaro for a customer. We were going to install 918 springs/titanium retainers also.

The car has a SLP catback/y-pipe, Air lid and a SLP 85mm MAF. otherwise stock.

Swapped Z06 Cam into his car. Proud of myself as i installed it with my girlfriend in 4 hours 30 minutes (she did half the work, saved me a bunch of time).

Dynoed before @ 294 rwhp SAE. A/F ratios in the 12.5:1 area

After it went 317 rwhp SAE with 50 miles on it since the swap. A/F ratios in the 12.2:1 area. I think the motor will pick up a little after some more learning/miles.

So 23 rwhp on a stock 99 SS camaro. Figured id share with you guys

Those numbers are right on the $$$, now have him install the Z06 intake and tune it in. Thanks for the info.
Joe.

That was worth the money and effort! Definitely do what Joe said. No one would even know you had anything.

try using a stock MAF and see if that doesn't lean lean him out to close to 12.8 or so and you'll see even more power

23 over stock? very very suprised to see that. I was thinking it would be about 35 or so. 318 is what i dyno with a lid and cut out in my 99. I was thinking about going with a z06 cam but now im going to look into some other mild cams. Not talking **** or anything, just thought it would be a little more. But hey, 23 hp will get you moving

23 rwhp isnt bad with that cam for the price and stock tuning.youll gain even more with tuning and raising the revlimiter and shift points.was it an a4 or m6 car?
