Maybe I am missing something here, but I believe LGM,Cartek and MTI all have heads/cam packages over 450 rwhp don't they? How can you claim to have the most powerful camshaft out there with less power?

I am not impressed with either of these two right now (LG or Kechme) if Kechme is not a sponsor I don't think he should be on here promoting his product nor do I think highly of LG Motorsports responding the way he has been...quite frankly I am disgusted by both and will not take my business to either.

Post the dyno runs!!! Sounds like an all out cam for a head/cam pkg - what or is there any drivability to this cam?

Every time I read a LG post ,he is crying about some one else cheated. I dont care if he put out 500 rwhp with just a cam with stock manifolds and no bolt ons . I would not by **** from him ,I would wait for some one to copy off of him

Great results.

FYI, Thunder made 455/418 with LS1 heads and the TR230 camshaft, and that was through the full exhaust also.

Not sure on how you figure the M2 is the most powerful LS1 camshaft. I think this title should be given to a stock headed LS1 car with the most power.

In all fairness,Lou offered up his Dyno
for a 'shootout'.
Bring it over and settle things.

Nice results KECHME.

I am beginning to love this site, its like a good soap-opra, only it is about gearheads.

Sean, come clean man, quite dodging my posts! The motor that was in matts car was rebuilt once, when the ringland broke on the hose. Thats when the F1 went in, and it made 445/40x. NOW, Youre saying that it was rebuilt AGAIN? Am I missing something there? Tell me, strait up, HOW MANY TIMES HAS IT BEEN REBUILT, INCLUDING THE ORGIGNAL MOTOR THAT THE F1 WAS IN?

And, where are you getting this "most powerful cam" BS?

Cartek- 470/430 on Joes car....472/420 on someone elses car

LGM- 464/422 on Louis' car 455/418 on glenns car....472/430 on some dudes vette on the CF forum.

Thunder, 455/41x on chris' car

These have been out for over a month. Id say youd have to get on the drawing board B4 you claim so much on the most powerful cam

The bottom end is stock, right down to the rings and bearings, the STOCK pistons have been fly cut because the heads have been milled . This is a fresh bottom end, and after the build the car would only put down #'s in the 430's. I assume it's because the engine is a little tighter than before. The heads are milled .035 and they are MMT stage 2's not MTI's we took care of that when Matt did some damage playin with the spray about a month ago. I am not expecting you guys to just swallow this with a grain of salt and just take my word for it, track times to come.

What is missing in all the debate is this. No one has passed an emissions test at this time with anyone of these new large duration cams. Anyone can use a bigger cam and make more power. That is not even a challenge. That is fine for a strictly race application. Most members however drive these cars daily and they must be streetable and must be able to pass emissions. How about a real test? Who can make the most power without compromising driveability and emissions? No dyno tricks, through a full exhaust including cats. Now that is a real challenge.
From a marketing standpoint, I can assure you the market for such a combination is many times larger than for the very few folks who don't give a hoot about driveability or being emissions legal. Good luck.

Well said!

I totally agree!

Living up here in the Northeast (Massachusetts) we need to be able to pass a yearly emission test.

As it stands now with our emissions test, U pull up with a loud car they immediatley look under for cats. No cats U are done.

Now if U have cats, they plug-in under the dash, if there are any codes set within the PCM in the previous 30 days U are going on the dyno rollers!

So basically what we all need up here is the most powerful "EMISSION LEGAL" cam, for our daily drivers/weekend racers!

There has been so much BS going on here on these forums, a person who doesn't own a flowbench, or dyno, can't believe anything. These dyno numbers are way out there practically over night.

P.S. Don't get me started on flow numbers, and guys selling heads out of their garage supported with numbers from a home made flow bench.

Edit: I can believe 450RWHP. But that's reaching the limit with factory pistons. I think the with the duration/lift the valve would clear the piston on a stock valve. But not with a head that has been milled. And without more than stock compression I question a cam that large working very good.

I'm in for the back to back 3 way, 4 way any way test. in the same car with plenty of whitnesses Nine Ball or PS John can officiate it, in a neutral location. Chicago would be ok, and each participant must be a sponsor of LS1 Tech. Especially if Tony or Pro stock John were the coordinators.

Someone make the rules, and the location, and we will each donate the cam and a technician.

Like bye bye C5 said, same car, same day, same headers, same dumps plus tuning, to the same A/f ratio plus other criteria that must be followed to the letter. Use the number print out every 500rpms, and average the hp numbers from 3000 to 6500. Simple.

In fact there could be Prize $$ for the winner.
Why bother with all this guessing and flaming, just do it.

Then the whole LS1Tech membership would benefit and the hostile words could end once and for all. This will be a first, and it will be a positive thing for all the members, rather than the Toxic tone lately.

Why would Ido this? Because everyone needs to know.

Lou, call up Speed Inc. and see if they will host your cam shootout. Heck, I'd almost consider letting you guys use my WS6 for the test as it's sitting there in the shop right now. My only stipulation is that I get to keep the winner.
