Default Do I need to find tdc if head gasket was changed?

I recently took my head off to fix a gasket. Rockers, lifters, pushrods are all the same.

I have them stored in order to which was removed.

My question is since the motor hasn't moved when reinstalling the rockers do I need to find tdc to install them? They are stock rockers.

If nothing has changed do I need to to do tdc or can I just bolt and torque the rockers down?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Technically the TDC method and rotating the engine to torque the rockers is the best way to do it, since you know for sure that each rocker is getting torqued down with no resistance..

However a lot of people just torque down to 22ft lbs and are done with it.

Out of habit and the way l learned I always follow the procedure, but I'm OCD like that.

I would recommend the procedure

The cc method is the old way of doing things and if was an older sbc I re comes it. However I have gm service manuals that just say torque all rockers to 22 ft lbs and go. I have done that every time I have one apart and have never had an issue

The GM Service Manual does not say that... it has you torque half of the rockers and then spin the crank one revolution and torque the other half of the rockers.

Torque the rockers to 22 ft/lbs, spin the motor by hand a couple times, and double check the torque. You'll be fine.
